Spray Foam Roofing
Many business owners and managers throughout Utah have begun to realize that switching to sprayed polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing is an environmentally friendly, cost effective, extremely high performance solution to commercial re-roofing. SPF roofing has successfully been in use for decades throughout the United States. SPF is an eco-friendly roofing solution for commercial and industrial structures, allowing them to endure the elements while providing an incredibly long lasting insulated roofing system that has an extremely high success rate. Lightweight and versatile, SPF performs incredibly well in every climate and can maintain its effectiveness for well over 50 years. It is generally a fraction of the cost of replacement with TPO or EPDM. High density spray foam acts as a seamless air, vapor, and thermal barrier, keeping the structure of your roof safe from water damage and decay for decades. Polyurethane foam works great for filling low areas on roofs, promoting proper drainage, and eliminating ponding. Additionally, SPF can assist in noise control due to its unique properties, making your business a quieter and more pleasant environment. When used on existing concrete or tar and gravel roofs, spray foam insulation fills cavities, bridges gaps, and actively strengthens the existing roof structure. A typical foam roof is about 1.5 inches thick and adds an R value of about 9.75, with water permeation of 0% (meaning your foam roof can not absorb water even if the membrane is compromised). Compare that to TPO, which has an R value of 0.1 with no added insulation
Our spray foam roofing system is always finished with a highly reflective fluid applied membrane, which in itself adds enough environmental resistance to provide a complete roofing system alone. Lightweight SPF adds no more than .5 lbs per sqft foot, which is a fraction of the weight of tar and gravel or ballasted EPDM, which can be over 30X the weight. This added weight, coupled with intensive snow load can wreak havoc on your structural components, reducing the life of your building. SPF/fluid applied membrane roofing can add enough energy efficiency to qualify for federal tax credits in many cases while doubling as a restoration option when you want to strengthen your existing roof without the mess and expense of a complete tear off. Even when the fluid applied membrane fails, which can easily be restored for pennies on the dollar, the foam will maintain a watertight sub surface that will prevent expensive interior structural water damage. SPF roofing is hands down the best solution for commercial re-roofing, in most cases.
Fluid Applied Roofing
In many instances of existing TPO, EPDM or metal roofing, foam isn’t even required and the fluid applied membrane alone is sufficient to add a 10-20 year manufacturer’s material and labor warranty to your existing roof, without the unnecessary expense of a full tear off. This type of application could still qualify for tax credits in many cases.
